Fashion Steals

Magazines like Marie Claire always include a section in each issue called "Splurge or Steal", where editors take outfits celebrities wear (priced in the $10,000 range) and re create the look for much less ($500-$1,000).  While I would love to spend a grand on an outfit, it's unrealistic for the average person (say student living in Charleston) to afford such extreme purchases.  Every time I open one of their issues, I always go straight to the outfit that could possibly be affordable, or just pick out the one item of clothing that I would love to have more than anything else and go from there.  I figured I would dedicate some time into taking a few of my favorite accessories and finding their identical twin for a more reasonable fashion steal.  If you've been following my blog for a while, then you've seen a couple of these items on previous posts that I have been wanting for quite some time.
The Classic Pavé bracelet from J.Crew is a frequent visitor of mine.  Over the past year, I have been gushing over how badly I wanted it (see herehere, & here) & then I FINALLY received it as a birthday present.  The procrastination of buying it was blamed on the price tag, $125, which seems affordable for a person who was dying to have it, but there's a look alike at Target... & it's only $20.
Splurge: J.Crew Pavé Bracelet ~ $125          Steal: Target Pave Link Bracelet ~ $20

I fell in love with this necklace the moment I saw it at Urban Outfitters.  At the time, I had found the perfect black quilted top on sale and the only thing that completed the outfit was this silver coin necklace.  I walked into Forever 21 this past weekend with friends & saw the identical necklace hanging in the accessory section.  PS; When I gushed about it last.
Splurge: Urban Outfitter Coin Necklace ~ $58      Steal: Forever 21 Necklace ~ $15

This fabulous ring was first discovered on Lauren Conrad's Instagram account (photo below) on the set of a Kohl's photo shoot for her line.  Guess what? It's on sale now, and the identical is Ron Herman's arrow ring (made of real gold of course) for $650.
